15 East Gay
This 40,000 sf office building was renovated into a mixed use office, retail, and residential project in 2003. The project was one of the first residential renovation projects in downtown Columbus in almost 20 years. The design intent was to add very little and give the building new life and a unique look by expressing its natural materials. Inside the heavy timber columns and brick load bearing masonry walls where all exposed and sand blasted. On the first floor the storefront was opened to the bare structural members. New glass was all but glazed to further complete this minimalist approach.
